Cute culture, rooted in Japanese street style, has become a global phenomenon that transcends demographics, using playful designs to evoke joy and nostalgia across fashion and home décor as a universal, inclusive language of charm.
Designing For Emotional Impact.
Key aesthetic elements, simple forms, soft textures, and playful, child-like details, evoke comfort and nostalgia, creating approachable, emotionally engaging products.
Objective:
Develop a lighting solution that evokes universal comfort across all demographics.
Establishing a Visual Identity.
Early ideation explored playful forms, with the sunny-side-up egg emerging as a favorite for its familiar, round shape and everyday charm, evoking warmth and positivity.
Interaction Design.
A soft form with silicone emphasizes smooth textures, rounded shapes, and gentle colors to invite comfort, while subtle details like dimples enhance approachability and playful interaction.
Bringing Ideas to Life.
A Low-fidelity model was created using simple forms and basic materials to test usability and guide the ultimate design direction.
